Waitrose Community matters Scheme

During May 2012 Sidmouth Detachment will be one of 3 charities taking part in the Community matters scheme so - when you buy stuff in Waitrose you get a green token to put in the ACF box!  Tell eveyone you know! get shopping! and save your tokens to fill up our bin in MAY!

The more tokens we get the more money Waitrose will present to the Detachment.

 

Detachment T shirts

T Shirts have been ordered! - green with rifles logo embroidererd on the front and SIDMOUTH printed on the back. cost will be about £9.00.

 

 

The Duke Of Edinburgh's Award (DofE)

NEW!!    DofE Skills courses available :-

 Introduction to programming in Java

24th June, 8 July,22 July 5th August.

The DofE award is open to any enrolled Cadet 14yrs and over (Collect your application form from the Detachment or print from the attachments section above).

'A' Company DACF organises and runs many activities in order for you to complete your Bronze, Silver, and Gold award. If you wish to take part in this very worthwile scheme see Sjt Curtis about how to get started.

Any DofE activities are on the notice board in the Detachment and on the Monthly calender.

 

 

 

TESCO's...........Do vouchers for schools, save them, bring them in and we can get them turned into sports stuff!!

Waitrose Community matters scheme

ALL MONTH ----    BUY stuff - Get Token - Put token in Sidmouth ACF's box- Simples!

01st. Short Sleave Order period starts.

Weds 09th. OC's visit to the Detachment. 

 Sat 12th. Sidmouth Sea Front. 6 cadets volunteers are needed to help members of the Royal British Legion to prepare the ground for a Memorial approx 4 hrs timings to be confirmed. Confirm timings and dress with SGT Curtis. Event Cancelled due to planning permission issues. Hope to re schedule in June

Thur 17th - Sat 19th. Devon County Show.

Weds 23rd. Mutters Moor. Normal Parade timings.

Sat 1st - Sun 02nd. APC training weekend at Pellew Hse.

JCIC,1st Aid, training, Radio users, and NCO Cadre.  PLUS Basic Cadre. for those enrolled in the last 6 months.

cost £4.00 inform Detachment Commander by Monday the 23rd April.

Tuesday 05th  HM the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. ''Youth of Sidmouth'' Jubilee Celibration.

The Detachment will be holding a combined recruiting/fun day at the Ham Green Sidmouth Seafront. using the ACF's climbing wall and recruiting trailer. Joining in with other Youth Organisations Celebrating HM The Queens 50 yrs on the Throne. 10 cadets are required to assist with the display and the wall.

Friday 15th-Sunday 17th. Senior section Field craft weekend.

All things Field Craft for Senior cadets only. Ideal chance to perfect your Skills as a Section Commander ready for the forthcoming summer camp!

Timings venue TBC. Consent forms shortly. Advise Det Commander if you wish to attend.

Saturday 16th. DofE Skills day (archery). Pellew Hse.

 Timings TBC. ask Adult Staff for details.

Monday 18th. Detachment inspection. An Officer from 43 Brigade will inspect the Detachment this year. ALL Cadets and Adults are expected to attend.

Tuesday 19th. The Cadet Centre's Official open Day. Visiting VIP's,Timings, events e.t.c TBC.

All Cadets expected to attend!!

Sat 24th. DofE skills Pellew Hse. Computer programing 1 of 3 Dates. See DofE section above. more details from Adult staff.
